This online marketplace has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all users about the change. Social Media Response Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category than originally posted because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance. Measurement Approach Modifications Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Experiences Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she explained. Marketplace Information The app has more than 100 million members, with 18 million British users. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
